The Appraisal Review and Management (ARM) Discipline of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) has proudly surpassed 100 members, marking a historic achievement for the discipline. Since its establishment in the early 1990s, ARM has played a critical role in setting high standards for appraisal review and management practices.
The ARM Discipline was introduced during Frederick L. Iusi's presidency in 1990–91 and formalized as a discipline in 1992. Over the years, it has grown steadily, becoming a key pillar of ASA. Notable advancements include the development of specialized education and the continuous support of its members through programs designed to elevate their skills.
“ARM Strong! I am thrilled to announce that we have exceeded 100 members in the ARM Discipline,” said Terri Lastovka, ARM Discipline Chair. “Since I became involved with ARM in 2017, we’ve experienced steady growth, with a cumulative annual growth rate of 6.8%. This milestone is a testament to our Committee’s dedication to creating and delivering excellent programs that help members become stronger appraisers, superior reviewers, and confident multi-discipline project managers. Congratulations to all, and I invite others to join this growing force!”
Reflecting on this milestone, long-time ARM member Jack Young added, “This is a huge achievement — a 65% growth since 2009, when Mattew Kaufman and I got involved, and ARM was at a standstill with 62 members. It’s inspiring to see how far we’ve come.”
ASA celebrates this significant accomplishment and looks forward to continued growth and innovation within the ARM Discipline. To learn more about ARM and how to join, visit ASA’s website.
