ASAʼs virtual platform includes two-way audio and video enabling instructors to engage with participants during the entire class session. Additional features provided within the online platform help ensure participants stay focused on the training throughout the event.

Electronic handouts associated with each class are posted within the “Class Handouts-eMaterials” tab on ASAʼs website via “My Education Dashboard”. Electronic documents are NOT emailed to students due to their volume and size. It is the responsibility of each student to download these materials prior to the class.
All exams must be proctored. ASA offers students the ability to take their exams online with an ASA staff proctor during our monthly Open Exam Sessions. Students may register for an upcoming session on ASAʼs website (look for ASA EXAM-ONLY). Students must take their exams within twenty-one (21) days of the conclusion of their class.
Students may also locate a local proctor and schedule a date and time with them to take their exam. A downloadable Exam Request Form is available in the class handouts. If you utilize a local proctor, please complete the request form in its entirety and email it to the education team. The turnaround time to process “local proctor” exam requests is approximately ten (10) business days.
For all virtual students, the virtual session is initiated by ASA. Participants connect to the session from their home/office via the virtual platform. A virtual class is an online learning environment that happens in real time and allows for live interaction between students and the instructor as they participate in learning activities. Virtual classes provide participants with an experience very close to traditional face-to-face teaching, even though the students and the instructor are not located in same physical location.
A hybrid class is where some of the students are virtual and some of the students are live in the classroom. The learning environment for the virtual student in a hybrid class is the same for a virtual student in a virtual class. The class happens in real time and allows for live interaction between students and the instructor as they participate in learning activities.
