The International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) has released the latest edition of its International Valuation Standards (IVS). FAQs, Basis of Conclusions’ document, and a series of webinars have been planned.
The International Valuation Standards (IVS) are globally recognized, principles-based standards that form the foundation of valuation for all assets and liabilities. Developed by the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) and utilized by professionals in over 100 countries, IVS play a crucial role in enhancing the quality, comparability, and transparency of valuations.
Regularly updated by the IVSC’s standards boards, the latest edition of IVS, published on 31 January 2024, is now available for download through IVS Online. This substantial update includes new chapters on Data & Inputs, Documentation, and Financial Instruments, alongside a reordered General Standards section that more accurately reflects the modern valuation process.
These significant improvements follow an extensive public consultation in 2023 and ensure that the standards remain relevant and supportive for all stakeholders in the valuation process.
ASA members who practice solely outside of North America have the option to follow IVSC standards, USPAP or CUSPAP (if the member resides in Canada).
A complimentary copy of the new edition of the International Valuation Standards, as well as a redline version, is available on ASA’s website for members to download.
